Please listen to your child read regularly and sign their reading diaries. Evidence suggests that reading for pleasure leads to increased attainment (Clark and DeZoya 2011).  Children can take a book home from school.

Curriculum Autumn 1

English

We are revisiting sentence types and using relative clauses first this half term, before moving onto cohesion across paragraphs and the use of adverbials.  We will finish the half term with some poetry.

Maths

Our maths focus this half term is Place Value, addition and subtraction.

Science

This half term we are learning all about Properties and Changes of Materials

RE

In RE we are learning about Creation.

PE

In PE we are focusing balancing and stretching.

DT

In Art we are studying and creating installation art.

Computing

In computing we are learning about digital communication and collaboration.

History

We are learning all about the Tudors.

PSHCE

We are re-visiting British Values and learning about Protected characteristics.

Previous Learning:

On transition day we created some fantastic art work based on our class reader: Wonder by RJ  Palacio.
